Program Description:

historic buildingsThe University of Duisburg-Essen has more than 30,000 students and is a major university in Germany. We have campuses in two large cities of the Rhine-Ruhr area. Despite the large number of students enrolled, we are not a mass university. It is quite easy to find your way around both campuses since all the buildings are located centrally and can be reached within a few minutes’ walk.

Currently, about 4,300 foreign students from more than 120 countries are enrolled. With over 170 Erasmus partner universities in 25 countries and almost 20% of international students, our university has achieved a high degree of internationalism.

Consisting of 11 departments, the University of Duisburg-Essen offers a broad spectrum of academic disciplines. In Duisburg, the stress is on the social and political sciences as well as on engineering and natural sciences. In Essen, the stress is on the humanities, art and design as well as on the life sciences. Mathematics, economics and departments of other fields of study are located on both campuses.

All this is complemented by varied large-scale sporting events and a wide range of shopping facilities… Read more.
