INDEPENDENTLY ARRANGED
A student can choose to participate in a non-IUP and a third-party provider that IUP does not currently have an affiliation agreement. An application to participate in an independently arranged program must be completed on this website in order to be approved by the university. Registration for the semester abroad will only be completed if an IUP independently arranged application is completed otherwise, IUP status may be compromised. Basic study abroad requirements must be met in order to be eligible to participate.
Federal Financial Aid (Stafford Loans, Pell Grants, etc.) may not be issued for this category of programming per Federal regulations. Students in need of aid for this program should apply for private education loans. Questions should be directed to Kristin Graham in Financial Aid kgraham@iup.edu
Note: IUP students who have arranged their program independently and have not filled out this application will need to do the following to be able to transfer the credits earned abroad to IUP
- Fill out the independently arranged application including the material submissions and questionnaires
- Pay the $375 study abroad fee
*These fees are charged to all IUP students who study abroad to ensure that they maintain their student status and are able to transfer the credits earned abroad towards their degree program.
