Sichuan University is one of China’s key universities under the direct supervision of Ministry of Education. Located in West China, it is identified as a key high-level comprehensive research university under Project 985 and Project 211. The CPC Committee Secretary of the University is Professor Yang Quanming, and the President is Professor Xie Heping.
Chengdu, capital of Sichuan, is the cultural hub of Southwest China. Experience its spicy cuisine, the Three Rivers Gorge, a giant Buddha carved out of the side of a cliff, and its many markets. You'll have opportunities to visit the Sichuan Opera (where you can dress up like an actor and sometimes even take part) and the Thatched Hut of Du Fu, a famous Tang dynasty poet in the western outskirts of Chengdu. It is a beautiful city full of vitality. You will find local teahouses, typical Sichuan cuisine restaurants, snack bars, and open markets that are popular places for tourists to visit.
